The artist portrait it self in front of museums and contemporary art centers, around the world through nine images taken between 1992 and 2010.

The idea of travel is released from a memory space. Personal memory, snatched from personal experience and collective memory in visiting places of worship, museums, heritage spaces, etc. In this memory space, objects that survive are kept meticulously, train or plane tickets, museum entrys, photographs, etc...
Since these objects are a inexhaustible source of creation, it is also for the Unknown, an excuse to revive old memories more or less, through an alleged travel agency specialized in culture travels.

Cyberspace requires a complete shattering of the basics of locating and uprooting. More than as a place, or rather a non-place, it is stated as a medium, ie, an operating room where we move on. Cyberspace thus surpasses all paradigms of representation of reality. Unlike classic models of representation, is not defined by a mimetic relation to reality but rather through a process of replicating its structure and mode of operation. In fact, these models serve as arborescent systems while cyberspace is a rhizomatic system, much more complex and full of multiplicities, opposing the re-presentation a presentation. This opposition between a tree structure that mimics the world for their skin, and the rhizome, able to build a new reality appears to us essential to the definition of the particular medium of the Internet.
Clayton Walter de Oliveira / Silvia B. Gregorio Vidotti The heterogeny in cybernetics, social systems, technology and virtual communities in cyberspace, IV La Cyber Society Congress, 2009

The cyber space has become a new platform where contemporary art still has some room to evolve. The current system resulted in a huge artistic dead end, strangled by the market and the star system.
This new space has opened up a new range of possibilities for contemporary art expansion, not only in terms of information / disclosure, but also in creative terms: while art process, creatively adapted to the new platform developing new forms of expression.
The intervention of art in this new technological medium, launches new ideological basis to a system dominated by technical communication. This is the purpose of this exhibition: propose to artists a challenge to develop beyond the frontiers of the new media's own technology, taking art to a new dimension.

I'VE GOT NO EXHIBITION
15 Jan. - 24 Apr. 2011

The flow of art is a circuit (a road) which connects two poles in the art world: the artist and their audience. Between these two poles there is a wide range of stakeholders so that it eclipses both poles: the artist, because the acceptance of their work depends on the actions of these agents, the public, because these agents no longer have interest in it.
So, in one hand the public is putting himself out of the circuit, the artist who does not fit in this "system" is out too. And being outside of it, is no longer "artist", at least recognized as such. He become Un-Artist. An artist who knows it, but he is not recognized as such.

The Unknown Artist wants to be in the system and thus fight for that.
The Un-Artist not want to be in the system because he does not identify with him. So he search for alternative practices out of that system.
These worlds actually copy the real world laws such as gravity, topography, communication, etc., creating alternative worlds to reality designed primarily for entertainment (such as, for example, computer games).
(...)

Modeling three-dimensional (or 3D modelling) in an area of computer graphics that is aimed at generating entities in three dimensions, static scenes (rendering), moving images (animation), with or without interactivity. It is basically the creation of forms, objects, characters, scenaries.

Speaking about digital is talking about "digital space", systems and forms that build networks. Is internet and the whole of their networks a huge universe of constellations, with real worlds, continents, oceans, cities and sky scrapers? How do artists see these worlds? As a mere tangle of wires and cables that physically connect computers by land and air, or a series of highways where vehicles travel at the speed of light carrying packets of information? And what is in the centers of these roads? Stations, simple issue / receipt or many virtual cities inhabited by beings? This and much more represent the hidden world of the Internet in a network that extends endlessly around the world at a speed unstoppable.
This unknown face, that look is sealed in a white rectangle, is the very face of the work that contemporaniety hides behind the name of the artist.
Today we know the name and even some faces, but the work - which is the reason for the art and the artist - remains closed, inaccessible. No more artists as trademarks.
In parallel with the UAVM exhibition it will be presented at MIDAC – International Dinamic Museum for Contemporary Art, in Belforte del Chienti, Italy an outdoors installation between 1 and 30 August 09.

This is all the more credible the more pixie image has, the greater the definition. Oposed to photo chemistry, whose definition of the image depends on the number of points and its size, higher points less number on the image, then lower definition. The process in digital image is different, because the pixel size does not change: more pixels more image definition.
Donald Kuspit compare the impressionism of Seurat to digital images; the flick is the same as pixel. In this sense, the digital image can be seen as a huge web of colors linked in some way to shape the image.

This project presents the larger participation since the UAVM opening: 47 proposals. It’s been harder to select from all the wonderfull works that have been proposed by the artists (in media the number of artists for each project must be 12). But the projects submited have been unespected and the comission board decided to present 28 projects: A. Bill Miller (USA), António Azenha (Portugal), Arthur Tuoto (Brazil), Ben Dunkle (USA), Bruno Bresani (Brazil), Bryant Dameron (USA), Dora Águila (Chile), Eva Lewarne (Poland), Henry Gwiazda (USA), Jesus Aguilar (Mexico), Jesvin Yeo (Singapor), Jinson Joseph (India), Jorge Simões (Portugal), Josh Parkins (USA), JudsoN (USA), Karl Larson (UK), Lemeh42 (Italy), Marco Bonvini (Italy), Matthias Fitz (Germany), Moskal (Poland), Osvaldo Cibils (Uruguay), Pato (Portugal), Rick Niebe (Italy), Rosa Menkman (Netherlands), Rui Antunes (Portugal), Sarawut (Thailand), Steve Hoskins (USA), SofyY (Russia).

With The Pixel Project, the UAVM which to present how artist see images through pixels, images as pixels, pixels as art.

Establishing a very close relationship with this concept, the UAVM selected a series of images of a series called "Castles of Sand", establishing a parallel between the sand of the beach and the pixel of the image.
The starting point was, through digital manipulation, stretch the pixel in the image. The grain of sand becomes into small squares, and the image in a kind of mosaic. Thanks to digital manipulation, images transform into deserts, in saline, guard towers in the Sahara ...
"Pixels of Sand" give rise to other worlds that live inside of others, as secrets, like the water in the desert sands.

With the mass proliferation of images over the internet (apparently in an uncontrollable unruly manner) the watermark seems to bring means to an artistic form of protection.
Apparently nothing can prevent the copying of images on the net. Even protected software (such as Flash, which prevents copying) can always be bypassed with the print-screen of the page.
But the found ways to curb hacking (with blurred images and watermarks) only remove an essential component to the image: the authenticity.
This brings to the images a second
level: more than the status of works of art, watermarks brings virtuality to them.
The watermark explains that what you see is not genuine. And so no longer interesting.
But the watermark can be artistic. The UAVM Virtual Museum presents 11 works of 11 artists who have focused on this issue: Chia (Taiwan), Gianny Sutera (IT), Gruppo Sinestético (IT), Henry Gwiazda (USA), Ida Julsen (Norway), Joseph Jinson (India), Mike Davies (UK), Rui Fonseca (BR), Sarah Boothroyd (Canada), Sebastien Seifert (Spain), Silvio Cro (PT).
